I want to say how proud of Heather I am. The words were beautiful! Jimmy meant a lot to us as he helped and made sure we were alright when my children were little. He made a difference in this world and meant the world to my children.

Retirement has a way of us distancing ourselves. Going to miss the laughter Jimmy. You were always so comical and FUN. ( I just found out today you left the building). Memories.

Jim and I go back to the Sheriff’s office days but I got to know him best as a Trooper. We were always good friends and I hate that we fell out of touch after retirement. My favorite stories are Jimmy Bates stories. I loved him!

What great memories I have of Mr. Bates coming into the gas station. He ALWAYS made sure to say hello and see how everyone was, then say he was looking for that crazy paper, just busted, and was going to see Shorty.
Rest easy sir and thank you for your service.

Jimmy was the best mentor I could have ever had when I became a police officer. He took so much time telling me so much information and helpful insights. Always a joy to talk to and always helpful . I grew to love and respect this state trooper. He will be so missed.
