Barbara Jeanette Cook Watson

Barbara Jeanette Cook Watson, 73, of Etowah, died on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Woods Memorial Hospital in Etowah. A daughter of the late Andrew and Katherine Cook, she was a member of Goodsprings Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Lynn Stephens; parents; and her sister, Sylvia Breedlove. Barbara loved preparing meals for others, she enjoyed spending time outdoors and she loved her family. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Hoyt Watson of Etowah; two sons, Rick Watson of Cleveland and Roger Watson of Etowah; one daughter, Kimberly Mooneyham of Athens, Ga.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Gamble officiating. Pallbearers will be Nathan Watson, Tyler Watson, Kenny Stephens, Andy Mooneyham, Lowell Watson and Don Winder. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, and proceed to Goodsprings Cemetery for the 11:30 a.m., committal service.
