Robert “Cecil” Parsons, 57, of Etowah, TN, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Kindred Nursing Home in Loudon, TN. He was a retired carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. A son of the late Essie Allene Cornett and T.L. Parsons and was preceded in death by his parents, listed above; sister, Gloria Jean Parsons Petersons; brother, John David Parsons; and brother-in-law, Jerry Allen Davis. Survivors include “His Dearest One”; sons, Robert Aaron Parsons, and Benjamin Parsons; granddaughter, Zaranna Hurtey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James T. and Jo Ann Parsons of Maxville, FL, and William Doyle and Sarah Parsons; sisters, Pat Parsons and Nicholas Liapis of Oxnard, CA, Delta Pearl Parsons Davis, Mt. Dora, FL, and Donna Marylee Parsons and Butch Magarian of Winder, GA; special niece, Brenda Gail Davis, Mt. Dora, FL and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Old Salam Cemetery with the Chaplain Mike Jackson officiating. There will be no formal visitation.

Uncle Cecil I am so Glad I had the chance to call and talk with you and tell you that I loved you & would miss you . I also got the chance to tell you that you were always my Favorite Uncle !!
You were alway fun to be around going down the river on tubes & picnics at Spring Creek, those are the memory’s I will always keep of you.
I am also Thankful we were Able to talk about God and your soul & that you told me you had made Peace with God !

Uncle Cecil Im proud to be called your niece and I enjoyed all the times we talked about food, and gourmet meals you prepared for dinner !!! Youre strength is such a inspiration….. I will truly miss hearing that calm voice in the midst of the storm….but I know God needed you more. You are truly miss and I think about you everyday!!! I’m trying to be good so we could meet again where God has gone to prepare a place for us………..

You have so many friends that love you as you loved them and I’m sorry if they didn’t get to say their goodbye but as per your written wishes you wanted things done quickly and with no viewing and laid to rest with mom and dad and ….so it was done.
As I sat by your bed and saw you take your last breathe I first felt such sadness at losing you but all of a sudden joy was there and I knew you put it there so heaven must have made you happy so I know you aren’t here. but that you are THERE pain free
